Paz Y Amor Group

The “Paz y Amor” (“Peace and Love”) Community Bank is beginning its fourteenth loan cycle with twenty members. The group is from the Pacaycasa district, located forty minutes from the city of Ayacucho.

The group's members have businesses which sell a variety of items, such as general merchandise, meat, vegetables, fruit, drinks, tara seeds (used to make tannic acid and starch), pill bugs (used to make ink), and bricks.

For example, Reyna is a 29-year-old mother of one daughter who lives with her common law husband. She has a shop in her home where she sells groceries. She also purchases tara seeds and pill bugs to later sell to intermediaries.

On the other hand, Demetria is married, 33 years old, and has three children. Together with her husband, Demetria makes artisanal bricks and fires them in rented ovens.

While Paulina is 39-years-old, has five children, and lives with her common law husband. Paulina sells beer and soft drinks from her home. On Sundays, she also sells food at the local sports stadium.

The group's members need differing loan amounts (300, 450, or 600 Peruvian nuevos soles), for a grand total of 12,950 nuevos soles to be loaned to the community bank.

The loans will be invested in the purchase of rice, sugar, meat, fruit, and drinks and to pay workers' salaries.

The bank's members dream of expanding and stocking their businesses, buying computers for their children, having other businesses, and providing their children with good educations.

El Banco Comunal Paz y Amor inicia su ciclo 14 con 20 socias, las socias son del distrito de Pacaycasa que se ubica a 40 minutos de la ciudad de Ayacucho.

Las socias realizan diferentes negocios como la venta de abarrotes en general, carne, verduras, frutas, bebidas, tara, cochinilla y la fabricación de ladrillos.

Como es el caso de Reyna que es conviviente, tiene 29 años y 1 hija, Reyna tiene una tienda en su casa en donde vende abarrotes en general, además compra tara, cochinilla que luego vende a los intermediarios.

Por otro lado Demetria es casada, tiene 33 años y 3 hijos, Demetria junto a su esposo se dedican a la elaboración de ladrillos artesanales, el quemado de los ladrillos lo realizan en hornos alquilados.

Mientras que Paulina es conviviente, tiene 39 años y 5 hijos, Paulina vende cerveza, gaseosa, actividad que realiza en su casa, además los días domingos vende comida en el estadio de su comunidad.

Las socias necesitan diferentes montos de prestamos como 300 soles, 450 soles, 600soles, haciendo un total de 12,950 soles de prestamos en el Banco Comunal.

Sus prestamos serán invertidos en la compra de arroz, azucar, carne, frutas, bebidas y el pago de peones.

Los sueños de las socias son ampliar, surtir sus negocios, comprar una computadora para sus hijos, tener otro negocio mas y brindar una buena educación a sus hijos.
