Lucy Jackson

Lucy Jackson is a 30-year-old married woman with two children. Both of her children are in school. She lives with her husband in her matrimonial home at Eguase, a suburb of Moore in the central region of Ghana. She is an achiever and a resourceful young woman. She loves selling goods, which is how she makes a living. Lucy trades in cassava and plantains and has been selling in the community market for three years now. She treks to surrounding villages in the Central part of Ghana to purchase bulk stock from the farmers and then sell at retail to her customers. For lack of adequate working capital, she is not able to purchase enough stock to make enough profit to support her family. She wants a loan to purchase a bulk supply of cassava and plantain to enable her to generate more sales. She believes the loan will help her earn more income to support her business growth and also wants to use part of the profit to support her children’s educations. She also hopes to receive GHS1000 to help restock her inventory, which would enable her to save more money and support her husband to take care of the home. Lucy belongs to a village bank called ‘Kronkronye’ which means Holiness.
