Rani Imtiaz Group

Rani baji, 33, is married and lives in Kot Radha Kishan, Pakistan. She owes a two-room brick house and has been living in it with her family for the past 14 years. Rani baji belongs to a poor family. Her father had a wish to give his children a good education but, unfortunately, this didn’t happen. Rani baji made a promise to herself that she will complete her father’s wish by giving her own children a good education. She has three children: two sons and one daughter. All of her children are attending school. Rani baji’s husband is Imtiaz. He has an animal skin selling business. He sells the skins to the factories to earn an income. He has been in this profession for the past four years. Rani baji operates a sewing clothes business. She does this work to pay for the education expenses of her children, because her husband’s income is very little and hardly meets the household expenses. She is applying for a loan to expand her husband’s animal skin selling business by buying more animal skins.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Hakim baji wants a loan to buy wood to sell. Nasreen baji and Zahida baji each want a loan to buy buffalos for their dairy businesses. Asma baji wants a loan to buy bricks to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.





About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
