Kosar Sabir Group

Kosar Sabir and her husband have lived in the city of Kot Radha Kishanin the Punjab province of Pakistan for the past 11 years. Kosar is a very hardworking lady. In addition to all her family duties, she runs a vegetable selling business out of a room of her house. Her husband has had a fruit selling business for the past 6 years. He sells his products from a cart in the community. Kosar successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying again for a loan to buy seasonal fruits for her husband’s fruit selling business.

This is a group loan. Kosar is the leader of this group, which consists of her and two another women from her locality. Asma Nazir wants a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk selling business. Shazia Sharafat wants a loan to buy clothes for her cloth selling business. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
