Sobia Ashiq Masih Group

Sobia baji is 31 years old married lady and a citizen of a city named Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore city is famous for its historical places and Punjabi foods. Sobia baji completed her education up until the 5th standard because her parents couldn’t afford her education expenses. Sobia baji got married to a man whose name is Ashiq masih and he works for a utensils selling business. He sells different kinds of utensils (steal, plastic and glass). He buys utensils from different markets of Lahore and sells them to earn income. Sobia baji is the mother of two daughters. Both of her daughters are not of school going age. Sobia baji operates a sewing clothes business. She saves her income in a committee because she wants to utilize her committee amount for her daughter’s education. Sobia baji successfully repaid her prior two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). She is now applying for a new loan to buy more utensils to expand her husband’s utensil selling business.

Sobia baji is the group leader of another four women from her locality. Venus begum baji and Shabana yasmeen baji each are requesting a loan to buy iron to sell. Saba baji is requesting a loan to buy leather to sell. Talat yasmeen baji is requesting a loan to buy mobile phones for her mobile phones selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one each others loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
