Kaniza M. Ismail Group

Kaniza baji and her husband M. Ismail have lived in a city named Borewala in Pakistan for the past 15 years. Her husband has run a salon in the community for the past six years. Presently, he has two employees in his salon and he pays them bimonthly. Kaniza baji is applying for a loan to buy supplies (mirror, razors, creams and chairs) to give a new look to her husband’s salon.

She is the group leader of three other women from her locality. Gulshan baji and Parveen baji both want loans to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Rani baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
