Salma M.riaz Group

Salma is a wife of M.Riaz who lives in a city named Kot Radha Kishan, Pakistan. Her husband runs a garment shop in the cloth market. People come to him to buy garments because he has a good collection with new designs. He has been in this profession for the past seven years.

Salma is a housewife but she keeps herself busy knitting clothes. Her activity gives her rewards in the shape of money. She knits sofa sets and table covers and sells in the markets.

Salma successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy garments for her husband’s business.

She is the group leader of four another women from her locality. Hanifan wants a loan to buy shoes to sell. Nasreen wants a loan to buy scrap for her business. Asia wants a loan to pay the remaining installments of her auto-rickshaw (three-wheeled motor vehicle). Nusrat baji wants a loan to buy clothes for her cloth selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
