Mrs. Chanry Sun Village Bank Group

Eighteen people who all live in Peam Sala village in Kandal province make up the village bank loan and they will use the loan for different purposes.

Mrs. Chanry Sun is a village bank president. She is a farmer who owns a small piece of land on which to cultivate rice. Aside from owning this plantation, she is a fruit seller in the local market. Since this business is going well, she wants to expand it so she decided to ask for a loan to buy different kinds of fruit to re-sell. Additionally, she would use the rest of the loan to buy fuel for her pump to water her field when it is infertile. Her husband, Mr. Morn Kea, helps her in both business activities.

Mrs. Chanry Sun is 37 years old and the mother of six children, two of whom are employed in a garment factory while three others are attending the local school and the youngest one is too young to work or study because that child is four years old.

Mrs. Koemly Song did not come to take a loan but her husband did, so he is shown in the picture.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
