Ama Boahemaa

Ama Boahemaa is 60 years old. She is a widowed mother of five children, two males and three females. She says all of them are out of school and living independently. She lives with her grandchildren in a family house in a small farming community called Hweakwae in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The major occupation of the dwellers in this community is farming. The land is rich in nutrients and as a result, good for farming.
Ama is into the business of selling soft drinks. She sells soft drinks such as Coke, Fanta, Sprite, etc. She buys from wholesale dealers in Nkawkaw because of her limited working capital. She keeps the drinks in a fridge to cool and then sells to people in her neighborhood. She wants a loan to procure crates of soft drinks in bulk. It is Ama’s dream to help her grandchildren in school.
