Bennan Oboth is a hard working business woman who operates her cereal and produce business in the Centre of Tororo – Uganda. Benna being capable woman, after she was given loan money of $500 from kiva in 2005 last year, when I reached to her business, I have seen some new changes that she has put forward for the business especially, stocking of new produce that she used not to have.

Benna is doing well and has very many customers who buy produce. The community she serves , appreciate for the work she is doing to them. And through that loan, has brought in a good difference in the family, as compared to other women in the village or area she stays in, she is better off them, now she changes diet for the family twice a week and has taken her children to good schools. There is good provision of clothing in the family.

Benna asked me to extend her sincere thanks to all funders of kiva for the wonderful work that they are doing and having heart of considering the poor.

More updates will be delivered soon.

Thanks,

Hellen

Cereal and produce

By:  Benna Oboth

Report form Business owner

I’m a staff of Kiva Africa, Uganda. I visited Benna Oboth   to evaluate on how its business operates of cereals and produce.  Its quite doing  well she has purchased a variety of items to her shop such as groundnuts, simsim,  sorghum, millet, rice, maize posho, beans and others.  she buys then at relatively cheap price and gets at list 30% profit per bag.

She has captured a number of customers, she says she would even improve up to wholesale level but, she has a responsibility of children to take care off with all necessary needs for her family. That alone hindered her progress in her business.

The business has really helped her to solve most problems she faces and she is doing well in her family. She says she will be able to pay her loan money back with time.

She requested me to send her sincere greetings to Kiva supporters and donors. She has thanked them so much for their grate work they are doing to offer loan to the poor most especially her, her life as changed not compared to before.

Thanks

Cereal and produce

Silway

By: Bena Oboth

In my visit to Bena’s business last month, Bena sent greetings to all Kiva lenders. In the field, I sited out some new changes that she made towards the progress of the business. That is to say; she has increased stock of both Cereal and produce. More so, she is looking forward in getting a helper who would in other wards help her operate the business.

She has a plan of constructing her personal house where she would be operating business and renting off to tenants at the same time.

Right now the children of Bena are looking healthier. And they have good balance diet. The education and medication status are all well catered for in the family.

Bena appreciates all lenders of Kiva for the great work done in helping people in Africa through the soft loan money.
