Shahnaz Akhtar Riaz Hussain Group

Shahnaz akhtar baji is a 52-year-old married lady and a citizen of Lahore, Pakistan for the last 21 years. Shahnaz baji is the wife of Riaz hussain who is a carpenter by profession. Shahanz baji is the mother of four kids: two daughters and two sons. Her sons are painters and paint houses and windows. Her elder daughter works in a factory for a monthly wage. Her younger daughter reads in the 10th standard. Shahnaz baji operates a decorative embroidery business. She prepares embroidered dresses and sells them in the cloth markets to earn an income. She successfully repaid her prior three loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying again for a loan to buy material (beads, colored thread and sketches) for her decorative embroidery business.

Shahnaz baji is the group leader of another four women from her locality. Jamila baji wants a loan to buy sanitary supplies (pipes, taps) to sell. Riffat naz baji wants a loan to buy nimko and chips for her canteen. Shakeela bano baji wants a loan to buy vehicle spare parts to sell. Suraiya baji wants a loan to buy cosmetics and a hair dryer for her parlor.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
