Shabana Zafar Iqbal Group

Shabana baji is a thirty-nine-year-old married lady and has been a resident of Lahore, in Pakistan, for the last twenty-five years. She is married to Zafar iqbal, and he has had a carpet weaving business for the last six years. He learned this art from his father. Shabana baji is the mother of four children - two sons and two daughters. All of her children are getting an education from a school which is located near their house. Shabana baji helps her husband in his carpet weaving business. She is applying for a loan to buy materials (colored thread, tools) for weaving carpets.

Shabana baji is the group leader of another four women from her locality. Shahnaz baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Razia begum baji wants a loan to buy a molding machine. Shahnaz kosar baji wants a loan to buy electrical supplies (wires, switch boards) to sell. Safia baji wants a loan to buy a washing machine for her laundry business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
