Uzma khanum baji is a 34 year old married lady and a citizen of a city named Lahore, Pakistan for the past 11 years. Uzma baji completed her education until 10th standard, but she couldn’t study further because her parents married her off to Ahmad ali who is a tailor with 5 years of experience. Uzma khanum baji is the mother of three kids: two sons and one daughter. All of her kids are enrolled in a school which is near their home. Uzma baji is also involved in a sewing clothes business. She sews clothes by taking orders from her neighbors and relatives. She charges $2 per dress. She uses her income to pay off the school fees for her kids, because her husband bears the household expenses. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying again for a loan to buy an electric sewing machine for her husband so that he is able to sew more clothes.

Uzma baji is the group leader of three other women from her locality. Shazia tabassum baji wants a loan to buy a sewing machine for sewing clothes. Gulshan majid baji wants a loan to buy clothes for her clothes selling business. Nazia baji wants a loan to buy books for her book shop. Shamim akhtar baji wants a loan to buy artificial jewelry to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
