Sonia is 45 years old. She lives with her husband and 3 children in their own house. She has had a store for one year. Her decision to start this business was driven by the need to generate income to help support the household. Every morning she opens her store to sell her merchandise, basic needs items. Sales are down during the school year because her neighbors have more expenses buying school supplies for their children. She has less merchandise during these months, but she keeps reserves to stock her store. Waiting on her customers is enjoyable and one of the things Sonia most enjoys. In the future she wants to see the store get bigger and have more working capital. This is Sonia’s first loan with MFP. She is sure that her community bank will be one of the most organized and united. Doing her part, Sonia made a promise to be responsible. The loan is to buy wholesale merchandise (bags of rice and sugar) and to pay for previously ordered products. .
