This village bank, which consists of twenty members, is located in Preaek Doung village in Kandal province, and they plan to use the loan for different purposes. Mrs. Mom Marm is the village bank president, and she was selected by the members. She is a fruit seller in the local market. Aside from this business, she owns a phone service for people. Her husband, Mr. Bey Sopheap, is a farmer who owns a small piece of land where he cultivates both rice and vegetables. However, he now faces an obstacle because his field is infertile and this has damaged his crop. In order to deal with this problem, Mrs. Mom Marm decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizer, and she will use the rest of money to purchase gasoline to use to water the field and make her crop more productive. She is 42 years old and the mother of three children who are attending the local school. Mrs. Lun Loem was not present to take out a loan but her husband was, so he is presented in the picture.

One member in this group loan is end-of-term loan and the rest have monthly payment loans. Those who have end-of-term loans are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
