Emelia Adutwumwaa

Besides being an entrepreneur, Emelia Adutwumwaa, 31, takes care of her four kids. Currently, all the kids are at primary school level. She wants to make sure that she is financially able to support all of her children to the highest degree of education possible. She lives with her husband, a farmer, and her children in their own house at Kwahu Da, a farming community in the Eastern region of Ghana. She also runs a grocery shop to help her husband provide for the family. She has been in business for four years now.

Emelia is expecting higher profits if she receives her loan. She will be adding more products to her grocery stall in the community. Her grocery products sell very quickly after she purchases them. Also, she will be adding soft drinks to her store to diversify her trading.

Emelia is a member of the community group called ‘Anigyee’ (meaning Happiness). Members in this group guarantee for one another as social collateral to access the loan and support one another in handling repayment of the loan.
