Ulziyjargal Purev

Ulziyjargal Purev is a married mother of three. For the last three years, together with her husband, she has run a family-owned carpentry business. In 2006, the couple bought woodworking tools and began to make furniture to sell. Both husband and wife are professional carpenters. Ulziyjargal's eldest daughter stays at home to take care of her youngest sister and their one son is a Buddhist monk at a local temple. Ulziyjargal's family lives in Uvurhangay province, which is located 400km southwest of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.

Ulziyjargal usually makes the deals for raw materials while her husband builds tables and other furniture. With this loan, Ulziyjargal will buy more wood and paint. The couple dreams of expanding into a furniture factory. Ulziyjargal says in Mongolian, "I want my children to keep our family business and continue expanding it as big as a furniture factory."
