Mrs. Sinath Khut Village Bank Group

Thirteen people living in Boeng Leach village in Takeo province are asking for a village bank loan, and they will use it for various purposes. Mrs. Sinath Khut is 28 years old and the village bank president. She is a farmer who owns a plot of land to cultivate both rice and vegetables. She faces a problem because she lacks the money to buy rice seed to grow on the field. In order to deal with this problem, she decided to ask for a loan. Her husband, Mr. Long Mey, helps his wife. Mrs. Sinath Khut has a child who is too young to work or study.

Two members in this group have end-of-term loans, which means they are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva. The rest of the group have monthly payment loans.
