Slmb Primary School Group

This is the second loan S.L.M.B is requesting from Kiva through SMT. With a loan, some members of the staff will start small businesses while those who are already running small businesses will invest the loan into them. Some of the staff members will use the loan to buy pieces of furniture, others will use it to pay for either their children's education or for themselves to pursue further studies, while the rest will use their loan for home building projects.

Fifty-two year old Alimany Kamara (back row, fourth from left) is the head teacher at the school. He was born in Roten, eight miles from the town of Magburaka. He is married with nine children who are in primary school, secondary school, and college. Alimany will use his loan to pay school fees for his children. Being able to pay his children’s school fees will make him a happy man.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
