Collins Osei-kyeremateng

Collins is thirty-six years old. He is married with two kids, both of whom are in the basic school. He is a taxi driver and has been driving for the past six years. Taxi driving has been his major occupation and the main source of livelihood for his family. He picks passengers up from the local lorry station and takes them to the nearby towns at a transport fare of 50 pesewas (0.5 cedis) per head.

However, his business is in crisis of late because his car has broken down and he needs money for repairs. He therefore requests a loan to enable him to maintain his taxi cab. This will allow him to resume business and earn income to support his family and get his kids back to school.

Collins belongs to the community group called Fervent Trust Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access loans and act as peer pressure to repay the loan.
