Alionza is 42 years old and lives with her husband and children in her mother's house. She embroiders for a living, an art that she learned thanks to some friends. Over time she has become more creative with her embroidery, and now these friends are very happy to have helped her. She used to sells tamales in the markets, and needed an additional activity to increase her income. Thanks to this art, everyday she receives a good quantity of polo neck sweaters to be embroidered, an activity which she carries out at home. Nevertheless, she continues selling tamales, as she receives orders for different holidays when large quantities of this dish are served to guests.

Alionza's priority is to install an embroidery workshop, as it is a very profitable business thanks to increasing export orders, and having adequate machinery would help her greatly. She has been a client of MFP for four years, and this is her fifth loan. MFP has helped her to build relationships with people and form part of good team that works responsibly. Alionza will use the 1,200 soles to buy materials to increase the quantity of her embroidery, and thus increase her earnings.

Entrepreneur: Alionza
Location: Lima, Peru
