Hussain

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Hussain by Ameen s.a.l. in Lebanon. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the 12 months of this loan, Ameen s.a.l. will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

We recently visited Hussain at one of the construction sites where he is building a stone wall. He used the loan proceeds to buy some tools and stone for the project. A good part of Hussain’s need to take a loan was to provide working capital for his business which often involves buying materials before receiving any payments for his work.

Hussain employs one or two people at any given time. His workers help with the construction. In the future, he hopes to be able to invest in heavier machinery, such as a bobcat, and to reduce his physical labor.

Hussain’s business is in Nabatiyeh, in the south of Lebanon. Nabatiyeh is a large town and is the capital of the governorate of the same name. Lebanon is divided into six governorates. The town has a population of about 120,000 and is an important economic and cultural focal point of the region.
