Huma baji, 37,is a married lady and a citizen of a historic place called Yadgar in the city of Lahore, Pakistan for the past 18 years. Huma baji passed her 10th standard. She couldn’t study further because her parents married her off to a man whose name is M. Nadeem, a painter by profession. This is not his regular source of income because he can only get income when people call him to paint their houses.

Huma baji shares the financial burden of her husband by doing decorative embroidery. She prepares embroidered dresses, taking the orders from her relatives and neighbors. Her husband is very happy with her caring behavior. Huma baji successfully repaid two loans from Asasah (a micro-finance institute in Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy more paint for her husband’s painting business.

She is the group leader for some more women from her locality. Rani baji wants a loan to buy leather to sell. Rehana Kosar baji wants a loan to buy paint to sell. Josphen baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Nazia baji wants a loan to pay off the remaining installments on her auto-rickshaw.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
