This little bank goes by the name "Santa Catalina de Sillacancha". It is named after the patron saint of the Sillacancha community in the village of Calca, in Cusco province, located an hour and a half from the city of Cusco, part of the Sacred Valley of the Inca.

The bank is composed of 7 women and 5 men who dedicate themselves primarily to agriculture. The area has a mild, fertile climate, and among its produce, they grow corn, potatoes and other vegetables and a variety of fruits. The associates of the bank will invest their loan in purchasing fertilizers and other goods, such as seeds for the new planting season, working the land prior to being able to plant it again. Many of them are also vendors, selling their vegetables and fruits to different places throughout the region. They also create delicious jellies from the pulp of the fruit, keeping them 100% natural and not using preservatives.

The partners appreciate and are grateful for the loan, since in these rural areas, they cannot get simple loan from a financing institution. For that reason, they are committed to paying back the loan in the time period specified, and they reiterate their support for the members who want to get ahead.
