Bayarhuu Tsend is a 62-year-old woman who lives with her husband. All three of her children are married and have moved out. In 2003, her family moved from Hovd, a western province, to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Since she moved in, she bought a children's clothing stall at the "Narantuul" market and began to run a clothing sales business. Narantuul is the biggest market in Mongolia. She took her first loan from XacBank (Kiva's Partner Microfinance institution of Mongolia) in 2006 to buy her second stall at the same market. Bayarhuu is one of best borrower's at XacBank, whose business has expanded quickly in the past few years. With the lunar New Year celebration approaching, small items have sold quickly, therefore she wants a loan to buy more kids clothes to increase her business inventory. She is hard-working person who is fastidious with her money.

Loan update from Bayarbuu Tsend in Mongolia Entrepreneur: Bayarhuu Tsend Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Bayarhuu Tsend expresses her appreciation to all lenders for supporting her small business! She is in the fourth month of her Kiva loan. With the loan, she went to Ereen, a Chinese border city, to buy children's apparel. Leading up to the Luner New Years, Bayarhuu sold most of the apparels she brought from China at good prices. For the holiday, people buy and give small presents, mostly gloves and socks and other apparel to each other when they visit friends’ homes. Her working capital has reached 3 million tugrugs ($1 USD=1400 MNT). During the Luner New Year celebration, her daily income increased from 200,000 tugrugs to 400,000 tugrugs. Bayarhuu kept unsold apparels in storage to sell them next fall. She has fully paid the loan before loan term ends. With the profit, Bayarhuu plans to have a summer vacation in Hovd, one of Mongolia's western provinces. She was born in the Hovd province.
