Oli Pio operates her own flea market where she sells her own handicrafts as well as traditional clothing such as puletasi (ladies' dresses) and t-shirts for men. The Christmas season is a very exciting period for Oli, because this is a big time of the year when more tourists visit Samoa. They always buy handicrafts made in Samoa to take it back with them as a souvenir. Some Samoan people who live outside of Samoa also buy a lot of handicrafts when they return to their country of residence. Oli makes a weekly profit of ST$400 (approximately USD160), which helps in supporting her big family and also in paying for her children's education. She is now applying for another loan to buy more handicrafts for her business.
