Daniel

Daniel is a 53-year-old man who has been married for over 10 years and has 8 children—5 of whom live at home with him. After the passing of his father, Daniel inherited his farms in which he has been planting bananas and coffee beans. However, over the past few years, his plants have been turning yellow. Because of that, production has decreased and his crops are not good quality. As a consequence, he does not earn good profits either. Daniel is concerned with finding pesticides and fungicide that will thwart this problem with his plants. Meanwhile, he and his wife work since 6:00 am, he in the farm and his wife prepares breakfast and lunch. At 8:00 am, he returns home to have breakfast, while his wife quickly prepares his lunch box. Afterwards, they both return to the farms to continue with their agricultural duties. Daniel says that he is very happy with his job, but he is worried about the yellow leaves that are affecting his plants and reducing production. He now sets his sights on his coffee bean harvest, which he hopes will bring in good profits so that he can purchase fertilizer and other treatments. Daniel is a quiet person who does not participate in all the microfinance institute’s activities; however, he makes his payments on time. This is his fifth loan with MFP, with which he is very grateful because the loans allow him to work. The money that he is requesting will be used to purchase fungicide so that he can combat the yellow leaves in his banana plants and, if he has enough money, he will also purchase fertilizer.

Daniel tiene 53 años de edad, es casado hace más de 10 años, tiene 8 hijos, de los cuales con 5 de ellos viven en su casa. Tras el fallecimiento de su padre Daniel heredó sus chacras donde en todo este tiempo ha venido sembrando plátanos y café, pero en los últimos años las hojas de sus plantas se están tornando de color amarillo, debido a ello su producción baja y sus cosechas no son buenas, en consecuencia tampoco le pagan un precio considerable, por ello la preocupación de Daniel que está buscando insecticidas o funguicidas que contrarresten este mal en sus plantas. Mientras tanto él y su esposa trabajan desde las 6.00am, él en la chacra y su esposa prepara el desayuno y el almuerzo, y a eso de la 8.00am regresa a su casa para desayunar, mientras que su esposa prepara con prisa las viandas a cargar; después ambos retornan a sus chacras para proseguir con los trabajos agrícolas. Daniel dice estar muy contento con su trabajo, solo le preocupa las hojas amarillas de sus plantas que están mermando su producción; ahora su esperanza es la cosecha de café con la que espera ganar bien para comprar fertilizantes y demás remedios. Daniel es una persona callada y no participa de todas las actividades de su banco comunal, pero realiza sus pagos puntualmente. Este es su 5to préstamo con MFP con quien está muy agradecido porque le permitirle trabajar. El dinero que está solicitando es para la compra de funguicidas para combatir las hojas amarillas de sus plantas de plátanos y si le alcanza también comprará fertilizantes.
