Gulzar Baji is a 37-year-old married lady and has resided in a city named Multan, Pakistan for the past 24 years. Her husband's name is Allah Wasaya and he has had a dairy business for the past 10 years. He sells milk in the milk shops and in the community as well. Gulzar Baji helps him by milking the buffalo. Presently he has one buffalo at home. Gulzar Baji has three kids: one son and two daughters. All of her kids are getting an education from a school which located near their house. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy another buffalo to expand her milk selling business.

She is a group leader of some more women of her locality. Zainab Mai and Manzooran Baji each want a loan to buy buffaloes for their milk selling businesses.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
