The Geraneos Bank begins its second cycle with 17 members.

The members work in different businesses like selling fruit, fish, diary products, bread, cereal, cheese, food, vegetables, wood, groceries, and they also perform some carpenter work.

One case is Rufilia, who is married, 53 years old, and has 10 children, 3 of which live with her. Rufilia travels to the markets every Saturday and Sunday where she sells groceries and buys cereal.

Another is Juana; she is 27 years old and lives with her partner and has 2 children. She sells food Saturdays and Sundays from her house, and during weekdays she sells baked sweet potato in different places.

Meanwhile Rosa is married, 57 years old and has 4 children. Rosa buys milk from the Alpachaca community and sells it in the streets.

The members need different loan amounts of around 300 soles, 600 soles, or 900 soles for a total of 10,800 soles in loans from the Communal Bank.

Their loans will be used for the purchase of wheat, beans, corn, various fruits, sweet potato, milk, sugar, rice, oranges, apples, cheese, carrots, tomatoes, onions, and barley.

The members’ dreams are to expand their businesses, to build a house with noble material, that their children learn a profession and to purchase land.
