"My name is Ayesha and I’m 26 years old and a married lady, a citizen of an area of Lahore called Ismail Nagar for the past 7 years. My husband's name is Zulfiqar Ali and he is a vegetable seller by profession and has been selling vegetables for the past 10 years. I’m the mother of two children: one son and one daughter. Both of my kids are in kindergarten. I and my husband have a dream to see our kids in a very good position. To achieve this, I prepare decorative embroidered dresses on order. I charge $3 per dress. I have successfully repaid my three loans from Asasah (a micro-finance institute in Pakistan). Now I am applying again for a loan to buy more seasonal vegetables to expand my husband’s vegetable selling business.

"I am the group leader for some more women from my locality. Sajida baji wants a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk-selling business. Rashidan baji wants a loan to buy wood to re-sell. Naseem Kosar baji wants a loan to buy cosmetics to sell. Rashidan baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop."

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
