The members of the group Benkadi (composed of 4 married women) have an average age of 24 and on average one child. They live in the Mancourani I neighborhood of the town of Sikasso.

They each have different businesses, but the most common is selling children's clothing in which 2 clients are involved; ithe other two are in the businesses of selling fruit and vegetables and selling shoes.

They work together with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso so as to satisfy the needs of their clientele. They are on their 4th solidarity loan (group loan). The preceding loans were correctly reimbursed.

They intend to use this loan to buy 4 dozen outfits for children, a load of oranges and mandarines, and around 20 pairs of shoes. They do their buying either in Bamako, the capital of Mali, or right in Sikasso and the surrounding area.

The items are sold retail and on a cash basis in the markets of the town of Sikasso (Médine and the big open-air market) and in their own neighborhoods, to a clientele composed of men and women.

They each hope to make an average profit 21,000 FCFA a month that they plan to use partially for their businesses and partially for the needs of their families.

PREMIER ET DERNIER FEED BACK

Entrepreneur: Benkadi Group
Location: Sikasso, Mali
