Sharifan baji is a 52-year-old widow and has been a citizen of a city named Arifwala, Pakistan, for the past 25 years. She is a very hard-working lady. She started doing embroidery and stitching dresses after the death of her husband, to help with bringing up the children. She has three kids: two sons and one daughter. Her elder son is a loader. Another works in a workshop. Her daughter stays at home and helps her in making embroidered dresses. She is applying for a loan to buy a new donkey cart for her son because his old cart has became rough.

She is the group leader of some more women of her locality. Khalida baji wants a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk selling business. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy a donkey cart for loading. Jamila begum baji wants a loan to buy vegetables to resell. Latifan baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
