Yaa Dufie

Yaa Dufie is a 33 year old trader. She is married with three children who are currently in school. She has sold used clothes through hawking for three years now, in order to take care of her family. With this business, she has been able to support one child's education, who is in the final year in the senior high school. Her major challenge over the years has been the lack of funds to increase her business. Yaa has lots of marketing experience and she is very confident that the loan would enable her to make remarkable business progress.

She wants to use the loan to buy more bales of used clothes and shoes of a greater variety to increase her inventory. She says her greatest joy would be when she is able to provide all her kids with a quality education to make them more resourceful in the future. She hopes to save enough to fulfill this dream of hers. Yaa belongs to a village bank called ‘Good name’.

Yaa lives at Apatrapa, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Yaa is fortunate that her husband has built a two bedroom house.

She hopes to receive a loan to make her business progress by restocking her inventory. This would enable her to save more after taking care of the household.
