Najwa repaired her sewing machine Entrepreneur: Najwa Location: Fourn Al Choubak, Lebanon Najwa used the loan she received to repair her sewing machine. She works from home doing various tailoring work, including repairs, upholstery, and fitting. She continues to work from her home in a Beirut suburb or at her mother’s place north of the city. Najwa relies on her network of friends and contacts in the apparel business to generate work. Her clients tend to be repeat customers who have become accustomed to dealing with her. She hopes to be able to buy a new heavy duty sewing machine in the future to be able to take on more demanding work. Her interests also include doing arts and crafts and flower arrangements, and considers doing such work in the future to supplement her income.
