Meybol

Meybol is 28 years old and has been married for nine years. She is the mother of two children. She lives with her mother-in-law, who has given them their own room so that they might live comfortably, and she helps her mother-in-law with her store. Before her second child was born, she worked putting together boxes for a neighbor, while her husband worked on a farm growing fruit. Their savings permitted them to acquire a car that they now rent out to her brother-in-law for 20 Peruvian soles per day. Meybol helps in her mother-in-law’s store in the morning, and in the afternoon from 3 to 10 o’clock works on commission in her sister’s clothing store. In her free time she totals up the earnings from their car. They continue to save in hopes of building their own home. Meybol has commented that taking care of the car is a big responsibility, because there are always repairs waiting to be made, tires and other items to be changed. Her husband is very interested in going into the wholesale trade in fruit, with the goal of buying a plot of land and building a house. With her first loan from MFP, Meybol made her payments on time, and has continued to do so to the present. This will be her fifth loan. With the money she has requested, she will purchase tires for the car, so that it will continue running and will generate the needed income.

Meybol tiene 28 años, es casada hace 9 años, y es madre de dos hijos, vive en la casa de su suegra que le ha dado un cuarto independiente para que viva cómodamente y le ayuda en el negocio de su bodega. Antes de que naciera su segundo hijo trabajaba construyendo cajones para una vecina, mientras que su esposo trabaja en la chacra al cuidado de sus frutos, sus ahorros les permitieron adquirir un auto que ahora alquilan a su cuñado por la 25 soles diarios. Meybol ayuda en la bodega de su suegra en horas de la mañana, y por la tarde trabaja en la tienda de ropa de su hermana, desde las 3.00pm hasta 10.00pm y gana de acuerdo a lo que vende. En sus horas libres contabiliza las ganancias de su carro para de ese modo ir ahorrando con miras de construir su casa propia. Ella comenta que es de mucha responsabilidad administrar su carro, porque se tiene que estar pendiente del mantenimiento, el cambio de las llantas y demás accesorios. Su esposo está más interesado en empezar con el negocio de la compra y venta de frutas al por mayor, con la finalidad de comprar su terreno y construir su casa. Meybol al solicitar su primer préstamo con MFP tuvo la predisposición de pagar las cuotas fijadas con puntualidad, y así lo viene haciendo todo este tiempo, este ya es su 5to crédito. Con el dinero que solicita comprará llantas para su carro, para que siga trabajando y genere las ganancias necesarias.
