The group “Trojes” is represented by Mr. Victory and is made up of hard-working and responsible people. For the most part, they sell products like bread, food, vegetables, candies, and activities like public transport and handicrafts. There is always competition in the market, but in order to succeed in overcoming it, they need to sell more products at lower prices. As a result, they require more capital. This is where Fundación Agrocapital comes in to help with financing so that the borrowers can buy materials and supplies to sell and can improve the tools for their activities so that they can pursue their work. Among the members in this group, there are people who have experience in collectively responsible groups and others that just started to learn, but in general the group members are people with hopes of growing and improving their situation and that of their families.

Update on your loan to Trojes group in Bolivia

Entrepreneur: Trojes Group
Location: Location Undisclosed, Bolivia

Trojes was a friendly group that seeming to have a very good relationship between the members.

Alcira runs a fried chicken and French fries stand downtown. She used her loan to buy a small, portable stove to make her chicken on the spot. Before, she used to make sandwiches at lunchtime in a school, but now with her own stand, she has a much better income. Alcira has four children, and she has been able to buy more of what they need with the extra income. In the future, she would like to buy another stove and move her stand into an actual store with tables, chairs, etc.

Nely has a flower stand in the center of town, and used her loan to buy more flowers to sell. She buys her flowers nearby in large quantities, and with the extra capital she has been able to grow her business a little bit and provide better for her baby, Hamilton. Before Nely started taking out loans, she had a very small business compared to today, and she dreams of expanding her business to the point of exportation to other cities in Bolivia.

Juan Gustavo, Nely’s husband, drives a fixed-route taxi, or taxi-trufi, and he used the loan for vehicle maintenance. He comments heartily that the loan has affected his business favorably, bringing in higher profits than before. He has used some of the profits for personal items, like clothing, and the rest for the baby, Hamilton.

Juan Carlos has driven a taxi-trufi for ten years. Juan Carlos used his loan to buy tires and battery for his taxi, which has allowed him to keep his business running reliably. Mostly, he has used his profits to pay back his loan. Juan Carlos has two daughters, and would like to buy another taxi sometime in the future to help better provide for them.
