Polina Twumwaa is 46 years old. She is married with ten children. At the moment, four of them are in senior and junior high school all together. She is a local manufacturer of palm oil. Palm oil is produced from palm nut fruits. The palm oil is processed through various stages to obtain the palm oil. Palm oil produced is used to prepare many local dishes. Her production is on a small scale due to capital inadequacy to buy machines for the processing.
In addition to palm oil business, she also burns wood with the outcome being charcoal. Polina has a portion of land where she burns the wood to get the charcoal. And this is what she has being doing for the last three years. But her problem has been with funds to buy more gallons of fuel and wood to burn the charcoal and palm nuts fruits to produce oil.
Polina again believes when you assist her she would be more resourced. And she can expand her business to raise more income to support her husband to provide food and finance her children’s education. Polina belongs to a village bank called Rejoice. She hopes to receive GH¢500 to make business progress by restocking her inventory.
