Hannah Nugbler

Hannah Nugbler is 56 years old. She is married with four children. At the moment, two are still in the junior high school and the rest are independent. She is a local manufacturer of palm oil and has sells grocery products for the past fifteen years to take care of her family. Palm oil is produced from palm nut fruits. The palm oil is processed through various stages to obtain the palm oil. Palm oil is used to prepare many local dishes. Her production is on a small scale due to capital inadequacy to buy machines for the processing.

In addition to her palm oil business, she also operates a grocery shop and sells items like sugar, biscuits, evaporated milk, etc. in the community where she lives. She says this has also slowed down due to current food prices in the world market. She wants to use the loan to buy more palm nuts to increase her efficiency to produce in larger quantities, and for the purchase of rice, sugar, milk, biscuits, and other canned foods so that she can produce daily and supply her customers on regular bases.

Hannah again believes this will help expand her business to raise more income to support her husband to provide food and finance her children’s education. Hannah belongs to a village bank called ‘Yonkodo’, which means 'best of friends'. She hopes to receive GH¢500 to make her business progress by restocking her inventory.
