Nusrat Begum Ghulam Hussain Group

Nusrat is the mother of three sons. Her elder son is a mason. The other boys are getting education from a school near the house. Nusrat begum baji is employed in an embroidery business. She makes embroidered dresses and sells them in clothing markets. She does this work to share the financial burden with her husband.

Nusrat has successfully repaid two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). She is now applying for a loan again to buy an auto-rickshaw for her husband, so that he is able to keep all of the money that he earns.

Nusrat is a group leader of some women in her locality. Allah rakhi baji wants a loan to change the body of her auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Sakina baji wants a loan to repair her tractor. Mumtaz baji wants a loan to buy animals (goats) for her animal selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in their own business. The members mutually guarantee each other's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.





About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
