Ana Isabel

Ana is a member of the Las Entusiastas (“The Enthusiasts”) Village Bank. She is a 34-year-old single mother of one child. Ana is a sales executive for the Esika cosmetics line. She is in charge of sales for a specific area and supervises 60 salespeople; she earns a fixed monthly income. Ana also owns a motorcycle taxi, which she rents out to a driver. Ana needs a loan of 1500 soles for motorcycle maintenance. Ana dreams of finishing construction on her home, of having her own investment capital, and of continuing to work.

Ana used her loan of 1500 soles to invest in her moto-taxi business, purchasing spare parts, gasoline, and other maintenance products. Her business has been going well, so she has not had much trouble meeting her loan repayment deadlines. The loan has helped Ana substantially; for example, she has more capital, with which she has begun building her first home. Her favorite things about working with FINCA are the help they give, the ‘charlas’ (community discussions) they offer, and meeting people with different opinions than her own that she can learn from. She always takes away new, innovative ways to do things from her meetings at FINCA.
