Mrs. Hun Am is a group leader of six members who all live in Sre Sa village in Kampong Chhnang province. She is a farmer who owns a plot of land to cultivate rice. In this plantation, she faces an obstacle because her field is far from the irrigation system. Thus, Mrs. Hun Am decided to ask for a loan to add to her savings to buy a pump in order to water the rice field. She hopes to increase income and improve living conditions with this loan. Her husband, Mr. Keo Oeun, sells firewood. Mrs. Hun Am is 47 years old and the mother of three children who are attending the local school.

This is a group loan where four members have end-of-term loans. They are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time.
