Mary was born in the year 1965 and is married to Kiyam Christopher. They have seven children, of which four are younger than 15 years old.

As a very hard working lady, Mary does everything possible to see that her family lives well. She has come across some challenges, such as her children not being able to go to school, early retirement of her husband from public service, the destruction of their family house by water, and the death of her elder brother when she was still very young.

In 2007, she saw GHAPE as a source of relief and obtained her first loan of 40,000frs and was able to do her repayment promptly.

With this loan, she plans to buy two bags of rice, one bag of beans, two bags of corn, palm oil, five bags of sawdust and 10 crates of drinks. She will use the remainder for transport. Her experience helps ensure the sustainability of the business. By so doing, she is very sure the business will progress and grow.

She will help her community by providing food and drinks to them. She will start repayment on the same day the loan is disbursed. She prefers to receive a loan from GHAPE because of the training GHAPE has given her how to manage the loan.

The Grounded and Holistic Approach to People's Empowerment (GHAPE) is a non-profit NGO based in Bamenda, Cameroon.
