Abida Parveen Abdul Razaq Group

Abida Parveen baji is a 35-year-old married lady and resides in a city called Borewala, Pakistan. She owns a two-room brick house and has lived in it with her family for the past 5 years. She is an uneducated lady but she doesn’t hesitate to mention the reason, namely, that her father had few financial resources. Her husband's name is Abdul Razaq and he is a driver and drives an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). She is the mother of five children: three sons and two daughters.

Abida Parveen baji's son makes bodies of vehicles called auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). The other children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Abida Parveen baji has a sewing business. She sews clothes for her neighbors, charging US$ 2 per dress. She uses her income to pay her children’s school fees. She is applying for a loan to repair the auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle) of her husband.

She is the group leader for some more women from her locality. Sugran baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Rubina baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Nasreen Akhtar baji wants a loan to buy land on contract to grow vegetables to sell. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
