Sixteen people who live in Spean Pau village in Kampong Chhnang province have formed a village bank loan group. Mrs. Sok Len Phan is the village bank loan group president who has been selected by the members. She owns a small store where she sells grocery products in the local market. Since this business is going well, she wants to expand it so she decided to ask for a loan to buy more grocery products for her inventory. Her husband, Mr. Chuon Reth, is a fisherman who catches fish locally. Mrs. Sok Len Phan is 30 years old and the mother of three children, two of whom are attending the local school while the youngest one is five years old and too young to work or study.
