The village bank group, which consists of seventeen people is located in Phum Thmey village in Kampong Chhnang province. Mrs. Sa Mai Sor is the group president who has been selected by the members. She is a housewife who cooks delicious foods for her family. Her husband, Mr. Deam Von, is a construction worker who makes a small income that supports the family. They have six children, four of whom are working in a garment factory, while the others attend the local school. Although Mrs. Sa Mai Sor’s family members work hard, they still live in an old house that is in poor condition. In order to improve these conditions, Mrs. Sa Mai Sor decided to ask for a loan which along with her savings, will allow her to build a new house for the family.

Village bank group loans consist mainly of end-of-term loans. Five members have had end-of-term loans and the rest have had monthly payment loans. They are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
