Rukhsana baji is a 28 year old married lady who resides in a city named Arifwala in Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the past 17 years. She completed her education until 10th standard and then she got married. Her husband's name is M.Shahzad and he works in a cotton factory. She has three kids: two sons and one daughter. All of her children are getting an education in a local school located near the house. Rukhsana baji has a cloth sewing business. She does this work to make herself busy. This activity gives her a return in the shape of money. She saves her income for her children’s good future. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to repair her sewing machine.

She is the leader of a group with a few more women. Suraiya baji wants a loan to buy seasonal fruits for her fruit selling business. Maqboolan baji wants a loan to buy wood to resell. Ghulam Qubra baji wants a loan to buy leather and nails for her shoe making business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
