Justice Amofa

Justice Amofa is 45 years old. He is married and has five children. All his children are still schooling in Obuasi, where they stay. Justice runs two different types of business simultaneously in his community. He trades in cocoa beans and at the same time owns a bicycle shop. He buys the cocoa beans directly from the farmers in the surrounding villages and sells to the cocoa-marketing companies at a premium. Justice has a small kiosk at the market square where he sells spare bicycle parts. Justice says because of his limited working capital, he is unable to procure most of the parts the people need. He wants to use the loan to procure more of the spare parts to meet the demands of his customers. Justice belongs to a Trust Bank group called “Kingdom.” The members in the group guarantee for one another as collateral so as to access the loan.
