Harriet is the leader of a 4-member group. She is a 30-year-old mother of 5 children who are between the ages of 6 and 19 years old. All of her children are currently attending school. At the same time, she takes care of additional family members. She rents and resides in a two-room house where she lives with seven other people. Although they have electricity, they have no piped water at their home. She notes that her family eats three meals a day.

She works in a semi-urban area in the outskirts of Kampala. Specifically, she owns and operates a bar from her home. On average, she sells beverages to 20 customers per day, and she works seven days per week. She explains that she has been a client of MCDT for one month, and that this is the first loan she has sought via the organization. With the loan proceeds, she would like to buy more crates of beer and soda.
