Ahrullo Bobojonov

Ahrullo Bobojonov is 31 years old, married with two children. Ahrullo shoots videotape for wedding parties and other family occasions. He has been in this business for about 15 years now. Ahrullo tries to be creative in his job and, when shooting events and preparing the tape, he works as if making a movie for the cinema. In the neighborhood, he is known as a very hard-working and diligent operator. He has many clients that makes the business successful and brings a stable income to his large family.

Today Ahrullo is requesting 300 US Dollars for the term of eight months. He is planning to purchase a computer for his business. This is the first loan for Ahrullo and he would like to assure everyone supporting him that he will repay the loan in time and expresses his gratitude to everyone.

Tajikistan is perhaps best known for its rich history, which includes a key post along the Silk Road; the end of Alexander the Great's rule; and the birthplace of the great Persian poet Rudaki and the most famous Islamic philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna). The country is home to communities that still speak the ancient Sogdian language, epic mountain passes, and a civilization that dates back to the 4th millennium BC. But, Tajikistan is also the poorest of the former Soviet republics. The civil war, which ignited soon after its independence from the U.S.S.R., further damaged the already weak economy. In addition, 93% of the country is mountainous and only 7% of the land is arable. These conditions have resulted in high levels of unemployment and have forced hundreds of thousands to seek work in other countries, mainly Russia. While the people of Tajikistan are working to improve its agricultural production and manufacturing sector, nearly two-thirds of the population still live in abject poverty.
