Sarah Tetteh

Sarah Tetteh is 33 years old, married and blessed with five children. When it comes to paying her family's bills and providing enough food to eat, Sarah is a very resourceful and hard worker. She is a food vendor who sells kenkey, a local dish made from corn dough (milled from fresh maize grains) which is cooked and then eaten with hot pepper and fried fish. She sells kenkey in the morning and afternoon to school children, and as a breakfast dish for local workers. She has many customers, since Ghanaians enjoy kenkey for both breakfast and lunch.

With this loan, she wants to increase the size of her business by buying more supplies such as maize, meat, fish, vegetables and firewood. If she can expand her business, she will be able to increase her savings and pay for her children’s education. Sarah is a member of the Good Shepherd Trust Group, whose members agree to help each other repay loans.
